Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER

Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Urgent backfill needed in the Emergency Room (ER)
  • Care for both adults and children
  • Experience in Level II or III trauma centers preferred
  • ER must be of equivalent size: 40+ beds and 200+ visits per day

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with Level II Trauma patients
  • Certifications (must have or be willing to obtain if offered):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including confidentiality and security agreements, drug screening consent, TB questionnaire, and compliance checklists
  • Texas-specific employability and misconduct registry checks required within 30 days prior to start
  • Must complete all required facility-specific forms and orientation prior to start

Summary

This is a night shift travel contract for an experienced ER Registered Nurse with trauma experience, caring for both adults and pediatric patients in a busy Level II or III trauma center ER. The position requires multiple certifications, thorough background checks, immunizations, and compliance with state and facility-specific documentation and health requirements. Prior recent travel experience in ER is preferred.
