Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Gresham, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Role: Community Hematology/Oncology Infusion Nurse
- Work Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Monday through Sunday with variable days
- Floating: Required to float among five clinic locations based on staffing needs
- Patient Population: Adult hematology and general medical oncology patients
- Responsibilities include patient education and care coordination as an RN navigator
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oregon
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years oncology nursing experience
- At least 1 year ambulatory infusion experience
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA provider only
- Chemotherapy Certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification
- Additional: Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification
- National sex offender search and federal exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) completed within 30 days prior to start
- Two professional references from supervisors/managers within the last 24 months required
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel test including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start (laboratory-based, SAMHSA certified)
- Physical exam not required unless specified for other roles
- Facility-specific compliance documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Fit mask testing within 1 year prior to start (must be completed through agency; no onsite fit testing)
- Immunizations or documented immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or signed declination)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (immune titer, vaccines, or declination)
- Hepatitis B (full vaccine series, immune titer, or declination)
- Varicella (immune titer, vaccines, or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months prior to start, plus TB questionnaire
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required by December 1, 2025
Training & Orientation
- Completion of facility-required online modules prior to start, including:
- Information Privacy and Security Essentials
- Integrity Foundations
- Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
- Glucometer 2026 and Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (exemptions apply)
- Vocera Badge Training (for inpatient RNs)
- Medication override test provided for orientation (not required before start)
- Facility professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed
Additional Information
- No on-call duties
- Floating among multiple clinic locations required; preferences considered when possible
- Must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date (notify recruiter of any planned unavailability)
