Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Start Date: ASAP


Job Description

  • Work in the Outpatient Heart & Vascular Lab (Cath Lab)
  • Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • No weekends or holidays required
  • On-call requirement: Late stay if needed
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
  • Attendance policy: More than two missed shifts without reasonable explanation during the 13-week contract may lead to contract review or cancellation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during hours of service
  • Social Security Card (if used for I9 verification)
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal history check within 1 year of start, updated annually; includes education verification (associates degree or higher required for RNs)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
  • Transcript or diploma from highest level of education (associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate)
  • Third-party education verification required
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-ray within 3 months of start, updated annually
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, 2-dose Heplisav, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form)
  • Drug Testing within 90 days of start (10 panel including Oxycodone and Marijuana)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year of start (if respirator use is required)
  • State-specific criminal records search (South Carolina SLED) required for all candidates
  • Employment application and skills checklist updated annually
  • Two professional references within 3 years of start

Testing and Competencies

  • Pass/Fail Testing on first day of orientation including:
    • Cardiac Arrhythmia Test
    • Medication Dosage Calculation Test
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required annually
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for RNs
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for MS/Tele, ICU, and ER units (no specific vendor required)

Additional Notes

  • Facility-specific documents and photo for badge required
  • Candidates will be allowed to test out of Epic system
  • Attendance and on-call policies strictly enforced
  • Late stay on-call may be required occasionally
  • Pending licenses accepted only if obtained prior to start date
