Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Required Experience: Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
License: Must have a permanent Ohio RN license or a compact state license in hand
Certifications:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Competencies & Testing

Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation (90% passing for medication, 80% for ECG)
Core competency training required annually
Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)

Additional Notes

Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
Physical exam and eye exam do not need to be updated annually if currently on assignment without a break
Immunization declinations are not accepted; medical and religious exemptions must be approved through agency and facility process
Modules and onboarding must be completed before clearance to start; delays in module completion may delay start date
Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat onboarding modules and competency exams

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or compact states, seeking a night shift travel assignment with a reputable healthcare facility.
