Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description
- Work weekend night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with a 3x12-hour schedule (36 hours/week).
- Float to various ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including:
- Neuro ICU
- Surgical ICUs
- Medical ICUs (MICU x2)
- Cardiology/Diagnostics
- CVICU
- SICU / MICU / NCCU
- Float policy requires nurses to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Experience with ventilator management.
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
Required Background and Credentialing
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881).
- Education verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA).
- State license verification within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification for RN license.
- 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership.
- Skills checklist and employment application required.
Required Competencies and Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (prior to start).
- Unit-specific competency exam.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%, max 3 attempts).
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease.
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive. TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Hepatitis B (titer or 3-vaccine series; declination accepted)
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed if working with infants or pregnant patients.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); mask required if declining.
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended.
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Annual acknowledgment of dress code and hand hygiene policy.
- Annual completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
- Completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start and updated annually.
- Annual review and acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies (new contracts only).
- Confidential fraud, waste, and abuse reporting form required for all candidates.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
- Weekend night shifts Friday/Saturday plus additional day shifts as needed
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Fingerprinting results must be completed and cleared prior to start; pending fingerprint attestations accepted under specific conditions.
- Candidates must be prepared to float across multiple ICU units with varying acuity levels.
