Mammography Tech Travel/Contract Job in Connecticut
Location
- City: Greenwich, Connecticut
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM to 4:15 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
- Current CT State License required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Registered or AART Registered Mammography certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC)
- Epic electronic health record experience required
Certifications & Licenses
- State License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start; if not holding CT license, must apply within 72 hours and provide proof of application
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other certifications may be required depending on unit (verify unit-specific requirements)
- Mammography Tech must maintain ARRT or AART Mammography registration
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start; must be updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Verification of highest level of education required; foreign equivalency evaluation required for internationally educated candidates
- Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
- Work history verification for last 7 years required for all start dates on/after 8/2/2024
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for new candidates in relevant units
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (clean shaven required for fit testing)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required (specific acceptable tests and timelines apply)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination within 1 year)
- Varicella
- Tdap vaccination highly preferred for pediatric specialties, labor and delivery, postpartum (declination accepted)
- 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/01 - 03/31); declinations not allowed
- COVID vaccination series preferred
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months prior to start; minimum passing score 85%
- Color blind testing required for all candidates on/after 8/2/2024; minimum passing score 80%
- Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., dysrhythmia/EKG) may be required depending on assignment
- Various facility-specific training modules and attestations required, including but not limited to:
- Stroke education (not required at this location)
- CLABSI prevention (not required at this location)
- Preventing pressure injury (not required at this location)
- Patient transportation with oxygen (not required at this location)
- Pyxis ES MedStation training (not required at this location)
- Baxter pump interoperability training
- Patient bedside rounding (not required for OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
- Ventricular assist device awareness (not required at this location)
- Blood administration module (not required at this location)
- New employee orientation module
- 21st Century Cures Act module (not required at this location)
- Chaperone policy training
- Fire safety module (effective 5/4/2026)
- Language services training not required at this location
- CAUTI education training not required at this location
- Suicide risk and environmental assessment training required for RNs and allied health
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training required for psychiatric/behavioral health staff (not applicable here)
