Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Coxsackie, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract (Per diem/part-time)
Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks

Job Description

• Provide assessment and treatment for individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
• Plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs.
• Recommend and assist in obtaining additional necessary services.
• May perform special education assessments and present findings to a Committee on Special Education.
• May select and recommend alternative communication systems and teach their use.
• May conduct research related to speech and language problems and present results.

Work Schedule

• Day shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1 shift, 8 hours per day)
• Hours per week: 8 (per diem/part-time as needed)

Required Qualifications

• Valid degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current New York State licensure for Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Successful completion of competency exams as required.
• Background check within 1 year covering the last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled.
• Criminal background check fingerprinting (to be completed onsite).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months prior to start (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD accepted).
• Annual TB questionnaire completion.
• Vaccination documentation or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 9-panel within 1 year of start (instant tests acceptable).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination for 2025-26.
• COVID-19 vaccine booster preferred but not required.
• Two professional references required.

• Background check and fingerprinting must be cleared before starting work.
• This is a state-run facility with a slow bid and hiring process; patience is required.

• No prior travel experience is explicitly required.
