Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Transitional Care – LTC/SNF)

Location

  • Portland, Maine

Employment Type

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Shift & Hours

  • Night shift
  • Weekly hours: 48 preferred, 36 acceptable
  • Weekend hours: Every other weekend, 36 hours
  • No call requirements

Unit & Patient Information

  • Unit: Transitional Care – Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility
  • Number of beds: 46
  • Patient ratio: Maximum 1:8
  • Patient type: Mix of medical and surgical patients, medically ready for discharge

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maine
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
  • Recent acute care experience required
  • BLS certification required

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

  • May float to other units based on skillset
  • Provide patient-centered care
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff

Equipment & Technology

  • Specialty beds and advanced patient care equipment including:
    • Philips Monitor Vital Sign Machines
    • Overhead lifts, Sara Steady, Standing Scale
    • Bladder Scanner, Hover Mat, Sage Mat, Synergy Air beds
    • Stryker beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, walkers, slide boards

Dress Code

  • Scrubs: Any color, fragrance-free
  • Unacceptable attire: Artificial nails, hoodies, graphic t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and any unprofessional dress or grooming
