Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Location

  • Alamogordo, New Mexico

Employment Type

  • Travel assignment
  • Full-time, Night shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Job Summary

  • Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a perinatal setting.
  • Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegations.
  • Deliver care consistent with nursing standards, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitor side effects and effectiveness.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
  • Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) care

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NRP certification
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Certification in one of the following fetal monitoring courses:
    • AWHONN Intermediate FHM
    • NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
  • STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants)

Additional Information

  • Must meet applicable nursing competencies related to leadership and clinical practice standards.
