Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care Unit (CCU)
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the patient population on the assigned unit. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Systematically re-assess patients to monitor progress and identify needs for intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care within nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Document timely interventions and perform Point of Care testing procedures.
- Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
- Serve as a resource for staff, physicians, visitors, and students; assist with orientation.
- Promote a positive work environment and collaborate to achieve unit and organizational goals.
- Exhibit behaviors that foster patient satisfaction, respect patient rights and confidentiality.
- Maintain effective communication and teamwork to support hospital mission and continuous improvement.
- Adapt to changes in work environment or schedule with flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Comply with all policies related to patient and environmental safety, attendance, and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Critical Care Unit (CCU) - Coronary Care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Start date: ASAP.
This position requires a dedicated RN with critical care experience, certifications, and the ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care during night shifts.
