Rehabilitation Therapy Contract Position

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Title

Rehab Speech Therapist

Job Description

Provide rehabilitation therapy in acute care and skilled nursing facility (SNF) settings.
Independently perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies in radiology without supervision.
Potential referrals for outpatient care.
Documentation primarily via Meditech computerized system for inpatient and paper documentation for outpatient.
Training provided for EMR documentation and orientation to rehab area expectations.

Schedule

Generally a set schedule, 5 days per week.
Likely to include 1 weekend day.
Possible floating to other units or facilities depending on census and staffing.

Required Qualifications

Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Hawaii.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year.
Experience as a Rehabilitation Therapist.
Active Hawaii rehabilitation licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
Dress code: Scrubs or per facility policy.

Systems/Equipment

Meditech computerized documentation system (inpatient).
Paper documentation for outpatient care.
Epic EMR system to be implemented starting November 1, 2025.
