Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract
Location: Medford, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Overview
- Acute Care Experience required as a Case Manager RN.
- Must be able to float between multiple acute care units including ICU, Medical, Med-Surg, Telemetry, Observation Unit, and Emergency Department.
- Weekend work required as needed; no on-call or block schedules.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:16.
- Facility uses Epic for charting.
- Scrub color: Business casual for Case Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- Minimum of 1 year of Case Management experience, with experience within the last year required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination/documentation.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (10-panel for some Per Diem candidates).
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates (RespSafety virtual questionnaire).
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates (exceptions apply for some specialties).
Competencies & Training
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required annually.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or equivalent exam required for Labor & Delivery RNs.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp) required.
- Epic training modules required; transcripts must be submitted and verified.
Additional Requirements
- Must acknowledge and comply with float policy; may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance.
- Passport-style badge photo required.
- Various state-specific attestations and background checks may apply depending on licensure and placement location.
Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility with 108 staffed beds.
- No parking fees.
- Scrubs provided for certain units; case managers wear business casual attire.
