Job Opportunity: Stepdown Registered Nurse

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Unit: Stepdown (Intermediate Care)
• Minimum Experience: 18 months recent Stepdown nursing experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Knowledge and proficiency in NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Orientation & Training

• Orientation duration: 32-40 hours, paid at 50% of base hourly rate
• Orientation includes competency exams for medication administration and ECG interpretation
• Completion of required online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Modules cannot be skipped and must be completed fully before clearance to start
• Candidates with less than 6 months gap from previous assignment at this system may be exempt from some orientation testing

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment
• Comprehensive background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite
• Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprint attestation required annually
• Nursys license verification within 30 days of start
• Employment application with at least 3 years prior work history including 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete baseline competency exams (medication and ECG) with minimum passing scores (SafeMedicate 90%, ECG 80%) during orientation
• Physical exam documentation must include provider address and confirm ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
• Facility accommodates latex allergies; notification required to ensure latex-free supplies
• Candidates with medical or religious exemptions for vaccines or fit testing must submit appropriate documentation for review and approval
• Candidates starting extensions must have all compliance documents up to date prior to contract extension
