Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (may consider 36 or 48 hours/week)
Preferred Start Date: June 15 (strongly preferred)


Job Description

  • Position in Labor and Delivery nursing on night shift.
  • Schedule typically consists of three 12-hour shifts per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background checks:
    • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
    • State-specific checks for Texas (Employability Status Check and Employee Misconduct Registry) within 30 days of start.
  • Education verification: transcript or diploma required.
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start.
  • Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including:
    • Vaccination Information Acknowledgment
    • TB and Occupational Exposure Acknowledgment
    • Patient Centered Pledge
    • Contract Employee Receipt and Acknowledgement
    • Computer Security Agreement
    • Corporate Compliance Acknowledgment
    • Confidentiality Statement
    • Employee Misconduct Registry Acknowledgment
    • Self Identify Form
    • Relationship to Physician Form
    • Authorization for Background Check
    • Traveler Identification Form
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required and updated annually; onsite option available.
  • Immunizations and health screenings required within 72 hours of contract signing:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (including Qgold or Tspot within 1 year)
    • TB Questionnaire annually regardless of TB status
    • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; boosters if non-immune
    • Mumps - positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; boosters if non-immune
    • Rubella - positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; boosters if non-immune
    • Hepatitis B - positive titer, series, or declination accepted; booster or declination post titer if low/equivocal
    • Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if non-immune
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or exemption for 2025-26 season (Oct 31, 2025 – Mar 31, 2026)
  • Drug testing:
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; must not pend.
    • Facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival; positive results lead to automatic cancellation.
  • References: 2 required within 3 years of start.
  • Resume or employment application required.
  • Skills checklist required and updated annually.

Additional Information

  • Orientation includes mandatory modules (~3-4 hours).
  • Parking available at no cost during orientation and employment.
  • Pass/Fail testing for Telemetry nurses includes EKG and medication knowledge.
  • Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and complete required forms prior to start.
