Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Inpatient
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift (7 days on, 7 days off), 20:00 - 06:30
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; block schedules required
- Later Transition: Position will transition to day shift (July/August) to cover a pharmacist on FMLA through 1/13/2027
- Floating: No floating between units
- On-call: Not required
- Patient Population: Pediatric focus; hospital experience with some pediatric exposure required
- Facility Type: Children’s Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Beds: 181 staffed beds
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space; bike racks available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Clinical Pharmacist license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
- Immunizations and screenings:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months of start
Background and Documentation
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education verification required
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
Additional Requirements
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (travel only, annual)
- Compliance with facility-specific float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to nearby facilities)

- This position is not suitable for candidates with only retail pharmacy experience.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- No on-call or floating duties expected.
- Night shift schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off, with a future transition to day shift coverage.
