Registered Nurse – Inpatient Rehab (Night Shift)

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend (Friday and Saturday nights); Sunday shifts are part of the regular work week with some flexibility possible

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on an inpatient rehabilitation unit, similar to a medical floor but excluding Heparin drips.
• Care for a high neuro population; stroke certification is a plus but not required.
• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and their responsible persons by providing explanations and instructions.
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Manage conflict professionally to contribute to a healthy workplace environment.
• Fulfill Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance nursing skills.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum of 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
