Inpatient Physical Therapist (PT Inpatient Rehab) - Travel/Contract
Location: Florence, South Carolina

Position Details
- Work setting: Hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Unit staffed beds: 28
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Weekend requirement: 1 weekend per month
- On-call: No
- Holiday shifts: Possible
- Floating: No floating between units or facilities required
- Charting system: Epic
- Parking: Free
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Physical Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check: Annual, including 7 years of residence/work history, national and state criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination; boosters allowed if low/non-reactive titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- TB Testing:
- Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days of contract start (T-spot not accepted)
- If positive, proof of chest X-ray required
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- COVID-19: Vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or a declination form completed
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations; documentation deadline December 5th
- Respirator clearance: Annual medical clearance required for all patient-facing staff via RespSafety questionnaire
Onboarding & Facility Specifics
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 4 hours) prior to start; failure to complete results in being sent home
- Required to submit a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
- Must sign and review: Assignment Acknowledgment, Code of Conduct, Employee Confidentiality Agreement, HR Policy Manual, Systems User Agreement, HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement
- User Access Request and Job Description forms must be completed prior to start
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks (no guaranteed hours beyond this)
- Local radius: 60 miles; locals are not accepted for this position
Additional Notes
- Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; candidates should consider this before accepting new or extension contracts
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
