Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Requires open heart surgery experience and ability to scrub in.
- Schedule: Day shift, 4x10 hours (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
- Alternating days off.
- On-call 1-2 days per week with a 30-minute response time.
- Weekend coverage every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM).
- Holiday shifts as needed (at least 1 major holiday expected).
- Floating as needed.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, with CVOR experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Screening & Interview Process
- Clinical screening to determine fit.
- Final decision made by the manager after interview.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- I-9 attestation and E-Verify compliance required.
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal background check (must be current within 30 days of start).
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment.
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
- Two professional references within 3 years required.
- Most recent resume or employment application required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
Certifications & Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
- Pass/fail Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (except OR and Home Health).
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, etc.) as applicable per unit.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted.
- Vaccination or positive titer documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles) - 2 doses or positive titer.
- Mumps - 2 doses or positive titer.
- Rubella - 2 doses or positive titer.
- Varicella - 2 doses or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season (declinations not accepted).
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination accepted.
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start and renewed annually.
- Fit testing preferred but not required.
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (required by agency, not facility).
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge with clear, professional appearance.
- Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
- Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form.
- Commitment to Health & Wellness.
- Code of Conduct.
- Confidentiality Agreement.
- Non-Employee Affidavit.
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not accessible via cell phone).
- New hire orientation must be completed by the end of the first day.
Additional Notes
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days.
- Candidate must be prepared to work in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
