Description
Mammography Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days x 8 hours)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Perform mammography procedures including 3D mammography, diagnostic mammograms, fine needle aspiration (FNA), needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and screenings.
- No on-call, weekend, or float requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in District of Columbia.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
- Mammography Technologist experience within the last year.
- Current ARRT (R) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
- Provide CEU credits and mammography procedure numbers for the past 2 years for regulatory compliance.
Licensure & Certifications
- ARRT (R) Mammography certification required.
- BLS certification required.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
- Education verification for highest degree required by the position.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required.
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – documentation of 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella – documentation of 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–March).
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required if driving on behalf of the employer is an essential job function.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
- Annual acknowledgment of safety manual.
- Mammography Technicians must meet federal MQSA requirements:
- 15 mammography-specific CE credits every 3 years.
- At least 200 mammograms performed in the past 24 months.
- One-time 8-hour digital mammography training before performing digital exams.
Notes
- This position is a travel/contract role with no weekend or on-call duties.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
- Candidate must be able to provide documentation and verification for all required certifications, immunizations, and background checks before start.
