Description

MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (12.5-hour shifts)
  • Hours per Week: 36 hours
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Facility Type: Regional community teaching medical center, Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment as an MRI Technologist
  • ARRT(R)(CT) certification
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC only; RQI acceptable)
  • Experience in both Acute Care and Outpatient settings
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

  • Floating: Required to float to other units/campuses per facility policy, only to units where qualified and trained
  • Travel Experience: First-time travelers are not accepted; prior travel experience required
  • Local Candidates: Accepted within a specified radius (radius rule applies)
  • Pending Licenses: Not accepted; must have active licenses before start
  • Driver’s License: Required for computer access and must be carried on duty

Compliance and Background Checks

  • 7-year background check within 12 months of start date required
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
  • Fingerprinting required if applicable (e.g., residency requirements)
  • Education verification required (highest level of education)
  • Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required (or proof of immunity):
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
    • Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, QF Gold, or Tspot within 90 days)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (second vaccine may be pending with timeline)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (second vaccine may be pending with timeline)
  • Annual flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required (not required for remote workers)

Orientation and Testing

  • Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
  • Pre-assignment testing (medication and arrhythmia tests) required within 72 hours of receiving login info; two attempts allowed
  • Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, specific background and quality requirements)

Performance and Documentation

  • Resume/application must include a 7-year work history
  • Performance evaluations required if employed over 1 year with the agency
  • Skills checklist and internal evaluations required for compliance and ongoing employment
