Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday (5x8 hours), 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Approximately 14 shifts per month including weekday and weekend call
• Patient focus includes Gynecology (GYN) and General Surgery
• Robotic surgery experience preferred
• Urgent backfill position

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) with legal name matching all documents
• Social Security Card with legal name matching all documents
• Background check: 7-year check required within 30 days of start, including statewide, federal, national, education, and international searches if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required; diploma may be accepted temporarily if verification is pending
• Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)
• Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., health record, code of conduct, confidentiality, orientation, residency declaration)
• Annual renewal of background check required for agency candidates

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required
• Immunizations and titers required within 72 hours of contract signing:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual TB questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual test)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titers negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or series with signed declination if applicable
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of chickenpox disease; boosters if titers negative/equivocal
• Drug testing required within 30 days; must include a panel of common substances
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31)
• COVID initial vaccination series required; boosters not required

• Orientation includes pass/fail testing with remediation offered same day if needed
