Description

Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Temp, Days Shift

Location: Plymouth, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 8


Job Summary

  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
  • Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting in clinical records.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services based on patient evaluations.
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain patient records per regulatory and company policies.
  • Accurately record treatment minutes in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
  • Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
  • Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Adhere to ASHA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience.
  • Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
  • Active Massachusetts State License.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • New graduates are eligible if they have completed Level II clinical experience (beyond Level I observation).
