Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech
Location: Tampa, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Caseload: 20-30 cases per day per tech
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Trauma Level: Level II Adult Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
- Beds: 615 staffed beds
- Unit Setup: 4 procedure rooms (3 with biplane), equipment includes Siemens and GE imaging systems
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Scrub Color: Black or Navy
- Parking: Included
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT certification
Work Requirements
- Weekend Work: Required
- On-Call: Required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs (no floating to sister facilities)
- Locals: Not accepted (travelers only)
- Guaranteed Hours: Available after first call off per pay period
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Standard background check within 1 year including 7 years of residence/work/school history
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Education Verification: Required, including foreign equivalency evaluation if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
- Physical Exam: Within 6 months of start date
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or documented declination (mask required if declined)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions accepted)
- Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed
Required Training and Competencies
- BayCare Online Learning Center Modules: Must be completed prior to start (4-8 hours)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥80%)
- Color Blindness test (Relias) prior to start
- Stroke Education CEUs: 8 total credits required (including NIH Stroke Certification and mRS certification) for relevant units
- Additional Certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM as applicable (check unit requirements)
