Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Tampa, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Caseload: 20-30 cases per day per tech
  • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
  • Trauma Level: Level II Adult Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
  • Beds: 615 staffed beds
  • Unit Setup: 4 procedure rooms (3 with biplane), equipment includes Siemens and GE imaging systems
  • Charting System: Cerner EMR
  • Scrub Color: Black or Navy
  • Parking: Included

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT certification

Work Requirements

  • Weekend Work: Required
  • On-Call: Required
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs (no floating to sister facilities)
  • Locals: Not accepted (travelers only)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Available after first call off per pay period

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Standard background check within 1 year including 7 years of residence/work/school history
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
  • Education Verification: Required, including foreign equivalency evaluation if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
  • Physical Exam: Within 6 months of start date
  • TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
    • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or documented declination (mask required if declined)
    • COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions accepted)
  • Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed

Required Training and Competencies

  • BayCare Online Learning Center Modules: Must be completed prior to start (4-8 hours)
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥80%)
    • Color Blindness test (Relias) prior to start
  • Stroke Education CEUs: 8 total credits required (including NIH Stroke Certification and mRS certification) for relevant units
  • Additional Certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM as applicable (check unit requirements)

  • References: Two professional references from the past 2 years required
  • Employment Application: Must be submitted and viewable by facility

  • Photo for Badge: Clear, professional photo with solid background required prior to start
  • Dress Code & Tobacco Policy: Must be acknowledged and followed
  • Mask Fit Acknowledgement: Required for all candidates

  • Candidates must maintain all certifications and licenses current throughout the assignment
