- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Day shift)
- No weekends, no on-call
Job Description
- Provide nursing care for hospice patients
- Assist with caseloads and manage increased referrals
- Charting experience with EPIC required
- First-time travel nurses and local candidates within a 75-mile radius are welcome
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of recent Hospice Palliative Care RN experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Orientation and Training
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions
- Competency exams and unit-specific training required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training provided onsite if needed
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including:
- SSN trace, county, alias, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days
- Education verification as applicable
- NC SBI fingerprint results required within 30 days of start (may pend if proof of completion provided)
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (may start with 2nd booster pending)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
Documentation and History
- Employment application and 7 years of work history required
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, including at least one supervisor
- Annual skills checklist and TB questionnaire required
- Facility-specific online modules must be completed prior to orientation
- Candidate must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
