Pharmacist Inpatient - Travel/Contract

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide pharmacy services with inpatient or outpatient oncology experience.
  • Must be IV trained and able to prepare hazardous and non-hazardous medications.
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, shifts between 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
  • Weekend requirement: work every 3rd or 4th Saturday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
  • May float between primary hospital and a nearby facility (approx. 2 miles away).
  • May care for COVID-19 patients.
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Clinical Pharmacist license in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • IV trained with experience preparing hazardous medications.
  • Experience with Epic system.

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • State pharmacy license verification (primary source online verification).
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with PATCH pending).
  • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending if appointment receipt is on file, but results must be finalized within 45 days or assignment will be terminated. Fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania.
  • Employment and professional references required (2 professional references within 3 years).
  • Education verification of highest degree required.
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen required within 1 year of start (specific to agency).
  • E-Verify or attestation required.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted. For positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) required, or declination with booster if titers negative/equivocal.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Vaccines (2 doses) or positive titer required; if titers negative/equivocal, 2 boosters required at least 28 days apart before clearance. Candidates born before 1957 are exempt.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; same booster rules as MMR.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted).
  • COVID-19 vaccine required or valid medical/religious exemption/declination accepted.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start; renew annually.
  • Fit testing preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
  • No call requirements.
  • Holidays as needed.
  • Candidate will be reviewed by clinical team for fit before manager interview.
  • Facility requires a clear, professional, passport-style photo for badge issuance.
  • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, and Non-Employee Affidavit.
  • Completion of assigned Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop required prior to start.
  • Two professional references required within 3 years.
  • Employment application or most recent resume required.
  • Annual skills checklist required.

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Pharmacist with oncology experience, licensed in Pennsylvania, with EPIC Beacon experience, working primarily day shifts with weekend rotation.
