Job Opportunity: Inpatient Physical Therapist

Location

  • Florence, South Carolina

Position Details

  • Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapist)
  • Setting: Hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation unit
  • Unit Beds: 28 staffed beds
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: No floating between units or sister facilities
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Local Radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Parking: Free

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Physical Therapist
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Certifications & Compliance

  • BLS certification must be current (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
  • Other certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be required depending on unit; verify with recruiter if applicable
  • Certifications expiring within 30 days of start date are not accepted; renewal or scheduled course required before start

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold; chest X-ray if positive)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but highly preferred; vaccination records or declination form must be uploaded

Background and Verification

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
    • SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
  • Employment verification and clinical references required
  • Education verification or diploma/transcripts may be required as placeholder if verification is pending

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
  • Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Signed agreements prior to start including:
    • Assignment Acknowledgment
    • Code of Conduct
    • Employee Confidentiality Agreement
    • HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement
    • Systems User Agreement
  • Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., MINI Orientation and acknowledgment)
  • Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into facility system prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension contracts during peak months (August–September) if this is a concern
  • Facility does not accept local candidates for this travel contract
  • Radiation badge not required for this position
