Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery (LDRP) Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 7:30)
  • Weekend work required
  • Floating within the hospital required; no floating to other hospitals
  • First-time travelers not accepted for this assignment
  • Locals accepted
  • Pending Oregon license accepted if application is submitted and received by the licensing board before start
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: maximum 1 week

Patient Population & Unit Details

  • Care for low to moderate risk laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients and their newborns
  • Responsibilities include triaging patients in triage rooms, performing maternal and newborn assessments, circulating and recovering C-sections in OR suite and private rooms
  • Unit type: Short term acute care, Level III trauma center, teaching hospital
  • Charting system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon (pending license accepted if application submitted and received by licensing board before start)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • AWHONN certification

Compliance & Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required 30 days prior to start and updated monthly during assignment
  • Education verification required for all clinical roles
  • International background check required if residency outside the US in past 10 years

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming good physical and mental health, free of infectious diseases
  • Fit mask testing completed onsite on first day; annual updates required
  • Immunizations and titers required (immune titer or vaccination documentation):
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declinations accepted with form)
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (immune titer and 3 vaccines preferred; declination form accepted)
    • Varicella
  • Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT) within 1 year; PPD not accepted; annual TB questionnaire for past positives
  • Drug testing: 10-panel including methamphetamines within 30 days prior to start; lab-based through SAMHSA certified lab
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season; mask policy applies if declined

Additional Requirements

  • At least 2 professional employment references required
  • Skills checklist required
  • Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, vaccine declination/waiver forms, respiratory questionnaire, and photo for badge must be completed prior to start
  • Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date (notify recruiter of any planned unavailability)
