Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Certified Surgical Tech (CVOR) – Scrub role
- Shift: Evenings with a mix of 2x8 and 2x12 hour shifts (approx. 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM)
- Weekend rotation and call required
- Flexibility to work anytime between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM
- Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing required
- Charting system used: EPIC
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CVOR Technologist
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
Required Skills
- General Operating Room procedures
- Thoracic and vascular surgery procedures
- CVOR procedures such as CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, valve replacement, etc.
- Aseptic technique
- Crash cart management, scrub & circulate duties
- Equipment documentation
Certifications & Licenses
- National certification for Surgical Technologists is not required
- State license verification required within 30 days of start
- Background checks including 7-year criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required
- Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) required with specific Ohio codes and must be completed within 1 year of start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required annually
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start (or TB questionnaire in lieu of annual test)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempt
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager/director or formal leadership
- Employment application required for all candidates
- Skills checklist required
- Competency exams and unit-specific competency testing may be required
- Background check results and fingerprinting must be approved prior to start
- Candidates must review and sign dress code and hand hygiene policies
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually
Parking
- Various parking permit options available for agency staff (costs and availability subject to change)
