Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy (Days)

Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care on a Level 3 Medical-Surgical Unit with a diverse patient population including complex medical conditions such as infectious diseases, oncology, behavioral health, hospice, and end-of-life care.
  • Work in a fast-paced, 26-bed unit environment that challenges both new graduates and experienced nurses.
  • Participate in a Virtual Nursing staffing model designed to increase bedside time and reduce documentation burden.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments.
  • Pursue lifelong learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review.
  • Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge, serving as a clinical resource, and acting as a professional role model.
  • Communicate effectively using SBAR and interdisciplinary methods.
  • Manage time efficiently and assist team members to enhance overall team performance.
  • Perform other duties as directed by competency-based objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Endoscopy.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Michigan.

Attendance Policy

  • Strict 3-strike attendance policy: termination after 3 absences or being more than 20 minutes late for scheduled shifts, unless excused for communicable disease or hospitalization with supporting evidence.
  • Policy effective starting 6/1/2024.

Additional Information

  • Surgical services include a broad range of procedures with a focus on general elective and critical surgeries.
  • The surgical department performs over 8,000 surgical and endoscopy procedures annually using advanced techniques to improve patient outcomes and recovery.
  • Hospital-provided scrubs are required as dress code.
