Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide care in a high-risk perinatal unit with Level III services including 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU, and 7-bay triage.
- Facility includes comprehensive maternity services and a Level II NICU.
- Staffing goals: 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in labor, 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum.
- Float required to postpartum unit.
- Weekends required.
- Call is not required.
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
- Candidates ideally have experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries; those with 100-200 deliveries experience may be considered.
- Locals are not accepted for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Washington state.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella (declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declinations accepted).
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Annual completion of facility-specific and specialty-specific regulatory training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Photo for badge with neutral background required.
Facility and Work Environment
- Level II Trauma Center with 571 staffed beds across campuses.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Parking provided at no cost.
- Scrub color: Any except reddish orange.
- Unit staffed with multiple RNs, CNAs, surgical techs, CRNAs, and health unit coordinators to support care.
- Hard stop requirement: Must have SVE (Sterile Vaginal Exam) skills.

- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- Clinician may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two-week period.
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
- Must submit all requested background checks, verifications, and documentation prior to start.
- Washington state-specific background and registry searches apply as per state law.
