Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Provide care in a high-risk perinatal unit with Level III services including 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU, and 7-bay triage.
• Facility includes comprehensive maternity services and a Level II NICU.
• Staffing goals: 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in labor, 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum.
• Float required to postpartum unit.
• Weekends required.
• Call is not required.
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
• Candidates ideally have experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries; those with 100-200 deliveries experience may be considered.
• Locals are not accepted for this position.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Washington state.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella (declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declinations accepted).
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
• Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
• Annual completion of facility-specific and specialty-specific regulatory training modules via LMS (Workramp).
• Photo for badge with neutral background required.

Facility and Work Environment

• Level II Trauma Center with 571 staffed beds across campuses.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Parking provided at no cost.
• Scrub color: Any except reddish orange.
• Unit staffed with multiple RNs, CNAs, surgical techs, CRNAs, and health unit coordinators to support care.
• Hard stop requirement: Must have SVE (Sterile Vaginal Exam) skills.

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Clinician may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two-week period.
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
• Must submit all requested background checks, verifications, and documentation prior to start.
• Washington state-specific background and registry searches apply as per state law.
