Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Neuro-Interventional Radiology procedures including diagnostic cerebral angiograms, coiling, stenting, embolizations, stroke thrombectomies, venous samplings, operating room angiograms, lumbar punctures, and other neurovascular procedures.
• Operate Siemens Bi-plane system for neurovascular image acquisition and post-processing.
• Work with a team of neuroradiologists and neurosurgeons.
• Some pediatric procedures performed.
• Scrub experience not required.

Schedule

• 4 shifts per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (10-hour shifts).
• Call schedule: Weeknight call every 1 weeknight during the week (4 PM to 7:30 AM), plus weekend call rotation Friday 4 PM through Monday 7:30 AM (assigned 3-4 weeknights of call in 13 weeks).
• Floating within the service line is required; no floating to sister facilities.
• No block scheduling or local candidates accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles).

Caseload & Environment

• 6-8 procedures per day per technologist.
• 3 procedure rooms.
• Facility is a short-term acute care teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Scrub colors: Black, Red, or White.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • ARRT Radiography (R) required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification of highest related degree required before start.
• Fingerprinting required if assigned or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois.
• State-specific searches and registries as applicable.
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, covering a comprehensive panel, must be current throughout assignment.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually.
• Immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity required:

  • Tdap (or declination),
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (with boosters or declination if titers negative),
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season.
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes or acceptable alternatives.
• Facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
• Regulatory compliance education quiz must be completed annually with a passing score.

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation parking available with fees; no reimbursement for parking.
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months).
• Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required.
• References: Two professional references required; supervisors preferred within last year.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable.

• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts over the 13-week assignment.
• No weekend shifts required, but weekend call rotation applies.
• Floating within the service line is expected to meet facility needs.
• No local candidates accepted; must be outside 75-mile radius.
• No block scheduling accommodations.
