X-Ray Tech (Radiologic Technologist) - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour variable day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Weekly Schedule Rotation:

  • Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (3 shifts)
• Call required, including possible holiday coverage
• Weekend shifts required every 3rd weekend
• No float or block scheduling required
• Primary responsibilities include surgery and fluoroscopy coverage
• Scrub color: Any color/brand accepted
• Charting system: EPIC
• Free parking available

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• X-Ray Technician experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Valid Missouri state license with primary source verification within 30 days of start
• Driver’s license or state ID required

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (check specifics if applicable)
• Pass/fail testing including Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required for applicable roles (not specific to this tech role)
• Medication and competency exams as applicable by profession
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing policies

Background & Screening Requirements

• Comprehensive background check within 30 days of start including:

  • National criminal check
  • State and county searches (10 years) with all aliases
  • SSN trace with all aliases
  • National Sex Offender registry check
  • FACIS Level 3
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date
• Missouri EDL search within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year, updated annually; if positive, chest x-ray within 6 months and annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or documented immunity (2 doses, positive titer, or declination accepted) for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, titer, or declination accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season or agency-approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually) covering multiple substances

Documentation & Compliance

• Employment application required
• Verification of most recent employer and 2 professional references within 3 years
• Skills checklist required
• Confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, demographic form, and agency nurse orientation quiz must be completed prior to start
• Onsite fit mask testing provided during orientation

Additional Notes

• Locals within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a lower rate (not applicable here)
• Return-to-Office (RTO) requests limited to 2 per contract
• Facility is a Level II Trauma and Stroke Center with 352 certified beds
• The hospital uses EPIC for charting and offers free parking
