Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Surgical Unit)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

Acute care interventional telemetry medical-surgical unit with 30 private/semi-private beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
Patient population primarily post-op GI patients with moderate to high acuity
Common treatments and equipment: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Insulin, Ketamine drips, PCA pumps, epidurals, Foley catheters, drains
No ventilated patients on the unit
Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry
Use of EPIC EMR system
Uniform: Navy blue scrubs
Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
