Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM or 9:00 AM start (8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
Job Requirements
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, including experience within the last year
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
- Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including:
- All states lived/worked in past 7 years
- State of permanent residence check
- Statewide repository search
- Nationwide and sex offender checks
- Education verification
- E-Verify and federal exclusions checks required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days or two PPDs)
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (no declinations accepted)
- Drug screening within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant screens not accepted)
- Completion of required competency exams and safety acknowledgments, including:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Abuse reporting competency covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect/exploitation
- Color blindness testing
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and exams (approx. 6 hours) during orientation week
- Submission of references (2 required) and a complete application/resume
- Annual skills checklist update required
Additional Notes
- Fingerprinting requirements apply for certain units; results may pend but proof of submission must be on file
- No temporary RN licenses accepted (not applicable here but noted for context)
- Certifications expiring within 1 month of contract start are not accepted; no onsite renewals offered
- Candidates must bring a mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and a laptop or cell phone to orientation (notify if unavailable)
This position is ideal for Nuclear Medicine Technologists with solid experience, required certifications, and familiarity with EPIC and Siemens systems, seeking a 13-week travel assignment with weekday day shifts in Richmond, VA.
