Job Opportunity: PCU Float Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Support primarily Medical-Surgical units with floating duties.
• Work schedule options:

  • Alternating 36/48 hour shifts every other day, or
  • Straight 48-hour shifts.
• 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee.
• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per 12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
• Weekend work required, potentially most weekends during the contract. Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules are not guaranteed.
• Preferred start date within 3-5 weeks from hire.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit, with at least some experience within the last year
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience required
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide, and sex offender registry.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start.
• E-Verify or attestation.
• Physical exam within 1 year, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Immunizations and health screenings (must be current or completed within 72 hours of contract signing):

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot within 1 year; chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD).
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required (exempt if born before 1957).
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination required.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox required.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (10/1–5/31) or facility-specific medical/religious exemption.
  • COVID vaccination documentation required.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (instant acceptable).
• Required facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., parking policy, confidentiality, code of conduct, orientation).
• References: 2 references within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Annual updates required for background checks, orientation, and skills checklist.

• Must be agreeable to floating and flexible scheduling.

• This position requires working most weekends.
