Registered Nurse - Hospice (Travel/Contract)

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Provide nursing care for adult to geriatric patients in a home health and hospice setting.
Work independently and communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff, Medical Director, and office staff.
Average daily census: 100 patients; typical workload: 6 visits per day.
Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 10:1.
Use electronic systems including HCHB and iPrescribe.
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
Weekend schedule: Every third weekend.
Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
On-call approximately 2 days per month for weekend backup and coverage during PTO or sick calls.
Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday occurs during assignment, expected to work it.
- If 2 major holidays occur, expected to work both.
- If 3 major holidays occur, expected to work 2 of them.
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
Return to orientation (RTO) required within a maximum of 7 days.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
Minimum 2 years of hospice nursing experience, with hospice experience within the last year.
Experience in a home health setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
