Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Quincy, Illinois

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekly hours: 36
• Target nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:6 (occasionally 1:7)
• Every other weekend required
• Float as needed
• Block schedule can be partially accommodated
• Must specify preference for 36 or 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Compliance & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (2 forms of ID required)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, education verification, sex offender registry, and national criminal checks (must be within 30 days of start)
• Education verification (diploma or transcripts acceptable)
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Competency exams with minimum passing score of 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score, including unit-specific exams
• OSHA mandatory training, updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific computer-based learning modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
• Completion of various facility-specific forms including emergency contact, employee health, non-discrimination, confidentiality, code of conduct, compliance, mandated reporter status, and system access requests
• Physical exam within 1 year (system requirement) and within 30 days (facility requirement)
• Photo for badge (headshot, JPEG format)
