Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech
Location: Overland Park, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (varies by day)
- Weekend requirement: Call only (weekend call every 4-6 weekends)
- On-call requirement: Weekday call 1-2 nights per week
- Floating: May be required to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed; assist in X-ray when IR is not busy
- Guaranteed hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks
- Equipment/Systems: GE Innova IGS, EPIC EMR, PACS
- Scrub color provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Kansas
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid Kansas license; pending licenses are not accepted
- No more than 7 days of Return to Office (RTO) restrictions
- Government-issued ID required
- Background checks including criminal, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches as applicable
- Education verification required prior to start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask (N95) testing required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Competency exams and skills checklists as applicable, including color blindness test and unit-specific competency exams
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Compliance with facility policies including HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and fingernail policies
- Completion of required orientation and regulatory compliance education modules
Work Environment & Expectations
- Regular floating between departments and facilities may be required
- Weekend and weekday on-call coverage expected
- Must maintain sterile technique and participate in emergency response teams
- Assist in other imaging modalities such as X-ray when IR workload is low
This position is suitable for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists who hold the necessary Kansas licensure and certifications, are comfortable with on-call responsibilities, and are willing to float within the facility as needed. First-time travel techs are welcome to apply.
