Description
Nuclear Medicine Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Day (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Unit Details
- Howell Mill Imaging location with 1 PET/CT and 1 SPECT/CT
- Procedures include cardiac PET, oncological PET FDG, Dototate, and PSMA studies
- No weekend shifts or call required
- Floating within facility/scope of practice and to other nearby facility as needed
Required Experience
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- State license: Must be licensed as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RRT) by the State of Georgia
- Background check: Completed within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty/unit (verify if applicable)
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exams: May include medication test/pharmacology and other specialty-specific competency exams as required
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive)
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer or signed declination required
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing required to start on time
- Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Return to Office (RTO) time: Maximum 7 days
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
Holidays
- If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it
- If two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both
- If three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Additional Requirements
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Verification of recent work history and 2 clinical references required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
This position offers a structured weekday schedule with no weekends or call, suitable for nuclear medicine technologists with at least one year of experience and appropriate licensure in Georgia. First-time travel technologists are welcome.
