Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Job Description
- Specialty: Respiratory Care with focus on Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and/or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience required.
- Facility Type: Children's Acute Care Hospital, Level 1 Trauma, Emergency Department, Pediatric Critical Care.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice.
- Local candidates within 75-mile radius are not accepted.
- Pending license accepted.
- Required to have experience in ED, Level 1 trauma, NICU, pediatric critical care, and pediatrics.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapist experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Information
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
- No floating outside scope of practice.
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted.
- Pending licenses accepted.
- Background checks and verifications must be current and comply with facility standards.
- Fit testing must be completed and on file by the end of the first week of orientation.
- Drug screen must not expire during assignment.
- Facility uses EPIC for charting.
- Parking available with daily garage rates.
- Facility is a teaching hospital with 400 staffed beds.
Summary
This is a travel Respiratory Therapist position specializing in NICU with night shifts at a large children's acute care hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. Candidates must have at least 2 years of respiratory care experience, including NICU and/or PICU, and hold current RRT and BCLS certifications. The role requires compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, competency exams, and facility-specific policies.
