Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Nuclear Medicine)
• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts of 10 hours each (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, weekend call required
• On-Call Requirement: Yes, rotating call for one week at a time covering all after-hours including weekends
• Guaranteed Hours Options:

  • 8 or 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours/week
  • 3 shifts of 12 hours (36 hours/week)
  • 4 shifts of 12 hours (48 hours/week)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Indiana (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• CNMT or NMTCB certification (must be in hand to submit)

Special Requirements

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Must complete rotating on-call duties including weekends
• Must pass unit competency exams and color blindness testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, 100% minimum score)
• Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam (not required for techs or RRTs)
• Must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
• Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start date
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start date

Background and Documentation

• Background check required within 90 days of start, including 7-year history and international search if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification and official transcripts/diplomas required (may be pending at start)
• Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years
• Current employment application with explanation of any gaps over 30 days in the last 7 years
• Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually
