Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Elkader, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM
Schedule: Every third weekend / End of Hour (EOH)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• May also cover medical/surgical units as needed.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• American Heart Association certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
• Medical/Surgical nursing experience.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Fit Test.
• Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen (9 or 10 panel, no THC) completed within 30 days of start.
• COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by Sept 2025), or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer.
• Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start.
• Influenza vaccine: Optional but recommended.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB.
• Varicella: Proof of vaccination or IgG titer.
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
• Current, non-expired Tdap vaccine (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction).

Professional & Compliance Requirements

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year.
• Two professional references.
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
• Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED).
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) checks dated within 30 days.
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days.
• Trinity Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Integrity and Audit Services Form, Non-Employee Upload Form, System Access Form, and Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only).
• Specialty-specific competency testing and Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
• Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors.

• License and certification verifications must be dated within 30 days of start.
• All required documents and verifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding.
• This position requires adherence to all facility policies and compliance standards.
