Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Option of either:

  • 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, weekdays)
  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday)
• Occasional Saturday weekend rotation (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM), approximately 2-3 times per 13-week contract

Unit & Equipment Details

• Exams performed portable and in inpatient units
• Outpatient exams with varying acuity levels
• Ultrasound equipment includes Philips, GE, and Siemens

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Echo-Vascular Technician, including experience within the last year
• Experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must hold one of the following credentials: ARDMS, RDCS, or CCI
• Valid state license for Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer discipline
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership
• Completion of a skills checklist

Background & Credentialing Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting with specific Ohio codes
• Monthly monitoring through EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG databases
• Education verification from accredited programs (ARDMS, RDCS, or CCI-RCS) required immediately after contract signing
• Proof of fingerprinting completion required (physical receipt or photo of fingerprint cards)
• Employment application required, including education details
• Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
• Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse reporting form and training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required annually
• Required vaccinations or titers:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions require documentation)
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination accepted)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12; Tdap required)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Competency & Certification Exams

• Unit-specific competency exam required prior to start
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for all RN/LVN candidates (if applicable)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for all RNs (not applicable if position is fully remote or excluded unit)
