Description

Pharmacist Travel Position

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Pharmacist
  • Shift: Evenings (2:30 PM – 1:00 AM), 7 days on / 7 days off (Thursday to Wednesday, may vary)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
  • Weekend and Call: As required by facility
  • Work Setting: Acute Care Pharmacy, Central Pharmacy operations
  • On-site Requirement: 100% on-site presence required
  • Team Environment:
    • Evening shift staffed by 2 pharmacists and 5-6 technicians
    • This role oversees workflow of pharmacy technicians and redirects tasks as needed (no direct supervision)
  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate workflow in central pharmacy
    • Verify and check medications, kits, crash carts, prepack items, IVs, creams, insulin pens, etc. using EPIC dispense prep
    • Ensure code carts are restocked correctly

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pharmacist license in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Training

  • Duration: 2-3 weeks depending on pharmacist capability
  • Focus: Product verification and workflow coordination

Additional Information

  • Position is covering overlapping FMLA leaves during winter
  • Likely to be extended beyond initial 13 weeks if performance is satisfactory
  • EMR system used: EPIC
  • Facility has a strong focus on patient safety and quality care, with multiple recognitions including trauma and stroke center certifications
