CVOR Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day)
On Call: Required on weekday nights (2+ days depending on staffing) and every third weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun)
Job Overview
- Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary team environment focused on patient advocacy and evidence-based care.
- Cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Plastics, ENT, Urology, and Gynecological procedures.
- Utilize advanced technology such as DaVinci Surgical Robot, navigational spinal and ENT surgery, and Hybrid OR for vascular procedures.
- Employ the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care through Shared Governance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas.
- Minimum of 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing experience.
- CVOR experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card copy.
- E-Verify or attestation documentation.
- Background check: 7-year history within 6 months of start, with annual updates required for direct candidates. Includes alias, SS trace, counties, statewide, national, education verification, and motor vehicle report (if applicable).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Education verification.
- Sex offender and state-specific criminal history checks within 30 days of start.
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS certification (AHA accepted).
- ACLS and PALS certifications encouraged.
- Other certifications (as applicable): NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
- Competency exams must be current within 1 year of start.
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required and must be updated annually.
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (time sensitive: must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation required; exemptions or declinations must be communicated to credentialing.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 3 years of start.
- Resume or employment application required.
- Work history verification for the past 2 years.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
- Facility-specific documents including personal appearance/dress code, pre-screening compliance checklist, TB questionnaire, and orientation materials must be reviewed and completed prior to start.
Experience & Travel Requirements
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience preferred in specialty.
- No explicit prior travel experience required.
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses passionate about surgical nursing and patient advocacy in a technologically advanced CVOR environment.
