Physical Therapy Manager (Interim/TDY) - Alaska
Location
- Bethel, Alaska
Employment Type
- Contract
- Duration: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
- Hours per week: 32
Job Summary
- Manage a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic.
- Support medical staff and participate in interdisciplinary team functions.
- Promote a team atmosphere and professional development of department staff.
- Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and establish treatment plans.
- Coordinate an orthopedic specialty field clinic, including screening and prioritizing referrals.
- Optimize department revenue and manage expenses to ensure financial viability.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal guidelines for physical therapy practice.
- Collaborate with corporate teams to build administrative processes.
- Work environment includes standard physical therapy equipment and modalities.
- Travel to village-based clinics via small, non-pressurized planes, bringing necessary therapy equipment.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of active, full-time patient care experience as a Physical Therapist.
- Physical Therapy experience within the last year.
Licensure & Certification
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Alaska.
Additional Requirements
- Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations required for all travelers.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, including ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and presenting complex information.
- Mathematical skills sufficient for data interpretation and basic spreadsheet use.
- Computer skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint for documentation and presentations.
- Reasoning ability to follow detailed instructions and solve complex administrative and patient care problems.
Work Environment
- Hospital-based physical therapy department with equipment such as hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise tools, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation modalities.
- Village-based settings typically provide a treatment table; therapist supplies portable equipment as needed.
This position is ideal for a physical therapist with leadership experience who is comfortable managing both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a unique, remote healthcare setting.
