Description
MRI Tech (Pediatric) - Travel/Contract
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Pediatric MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Shift: Night shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
- Caseload: Inpatient, ER, and Outpatient (varies)
- Floating: May float within other buildings on campus and sister facilities
- On-call: Not required
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Required certifications/licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
- MR certification (ARRT or ARMRIT)
- Required experience: Siemens MRI equipment experience
- Required experience: Pediatric MRI Technologist experience
Licensing
- State license: Not required to have South Carolina Radiology license for MRI Techs
- Primary source verification of active, unencumbered license required
- Background checks and verifications required, including education verification and employment history
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam: Initial and annual updates required, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- TB test: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19 vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
- Seasonal flu vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
Competency & Documentation
- Competency exams required, including medication/pharmacology competency
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed before orientation
- Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Complete employment application/resume with no unaccounted gaps
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: 60 miles from facility; local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Hurricane season (June-November): Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during this period
- Parking: Paid parking required nights and weekends with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
