Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Specialty: Surgical Services (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Job Description
- Position requires experience in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery.
- Must have 2 years of consecutive experience in cardiovascular surgery.
- Expected patient-to-tech ratio: 1:3.
- On-call required for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- No floating between units.
- No weekend or block schedule requirements.
Facility Type
- Short Term Acute Care hospital.
- Level II Trauma Center.
- Total staffed beds: 379.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist.
- Recent CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required annually for travel candidates.
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination documentation preferred (declinations not required)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required.
- Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules.
- Must complete competency exams as applicable.
- May be required to float to other nearby facilities within the region (float policy acknowledgment required).
- Color blind testing may be required on a unit-by-unit basis.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Licensed nursing personnel wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (print tops not allowed except in specific units).
- Unlicensed personnel wear solid hunter green uniforms or scrubs.
- Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots.
