Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Daily caseload: 7-20 cases per tech
  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
  • Total staffed beds: 615
  • Charting system: Cerner
  • Scrub color: Any
  • Parking: Included

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience
  • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients
  • Experience with Cerner

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • National certification for Cath Lab Tech (RCIS or ARRT); if ARRT used, FL license also required
  • ACLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • BLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • PALS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as applicable
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) if applicable
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%) as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (100% lethal arrhythmia score) for applicable units
  • Color Blind Testing (Relias) prior to start
  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and standard 7-year history
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if education completed outside USA or Puerto Rico
  • Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start or chest X-ray if prior positive PPD
  • Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
  • Immunizations or titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination accepted)
  • Drug testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required (mask required if declined)
  • Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required
  • 2 professional references from past 2 years
  • Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Requirements

  • On-call availability as needed (no weekend requirement)
  • No floating to other units or sister facilities
  • Locals are not accepted
  • Pending state licenses are not accepted
  • Must complete facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
  • Professional photo for badge required before start
  • Compliance with facility dress code and tobacco policy
  • Completion of facility-specific privacy policies and affidavits
  • Completion of hurricane exemption survey if assignment falls between June 1 and November 30
  • Candidates must register and complete required BayCare Online Learning Center modules within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Modules must be completed by the Thursday prior to start date to avoid delays or non-payment for module time

Notes

  • Guaranteed hours apply only after the first call-off per pay period
  • Candidates must maintain all certifications and licenses current throughout the assignment
  • Candidates with gaps of 30+ days between assignments must re-complete certain health screenings and online modules
  • Candidates must upload all required documentation to the compliance system for verification
