Description
Physical Therapist (Acute Care Hospital) - Travel/Contract
Location: De Queen, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
The Physical Therapist (PT) provides direct patient care focused on restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disabilities due to injury or disease. Responsibilities include evaluating patients’ medical history and physical abilities, developing and modifying treatment plans, documenting care, coordinating discharge plans, and supervising staff. Care is delivered within defined standards and age-specific guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Minimum 2 years of direct patient physical therapy care and treatment experience (preferred).
- Experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting (preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification preferred.
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for all candidates.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required as applicable.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required as applicable.
- Other certifications (e.g., Neonatal Resuscitation, Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by specific clinical areas.
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation required.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, and federal exclusions must be current and updated annually.
- Primary source verification of state license required.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 1 year of start.
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or declination documentation may be required during flu season.
Documentation & History
- Two professional references within 2 years required for travel and allied positions.
- Completed application/resume required.
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
- Performance evaluations required if previously employed with the organization over 1 year.
